👋 Stay interviews are a tool to keep your high performing team members in Learnerbly, by gauging why they stay, and why they might not.
They have the skill, let’s ensure they also have the will.
How to have a stay conversation
👨👨👧👦 Who to have them with

In Performance Snapshots you are asked ‘if this person got a job elsewhere I would…’
Have a stay conversation if you choose:
- 😱 Do everything I could to keep them. We'd be in trouble, OR
- 😰 Convince them to stay. They'd be difficult to replace
📅 When to have them
👉🏽 Have a stay conversation with them regularly
- We recommend having a stay conversation at least once a quarter with your top performers
- Leave at least an hour for the conversation so there’s time to unpick what you hear

💡 Stay conversations don’t always need to be a separate 121 - you could include specific questions in a regular check in.

🚨 Watch outs
If you hear something that would keep a team member e.g. “a £10,000 pay increase”
- Do not make any guarantees that you can’t commit to.
- Instead, thank them for sharing the information with you and that you’ll keep it in mind for the future.
